The St. Joseph Pre-Kindergarten program is a great way for a child to continue the spiritual and educational journey that the parent has begun at home. The program serves children aged 3, 4 & 5. We believe in educating the whole child by focusing on intellectual, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative growth. Our philosophy is to provide a stimulating environment in which activities are planned to help each child succeed at his/her own level of development. Because children have different interests and learning styles, and because they progress at different rates, we take considerable care to tailor our program to the talents and needs of each child.
The Pre-Kindergarten is a great place for a child to make new friends as he/she separates from the security of home and enters the exciting world of school. Throughout the school year conceptual learning and skills acquisition will be continually reinforced and extended to build a foundation for academic success. An integrated curriculum will be practiced in the core areas of language and early literacy development, mathematics, religion, art, social studies, and science. In addition, teachers will provide opportunities for development in gross and fine motor skills, technology, social skills, and health and safety as part of the integrated curriculum. The children also participate in special classes including library, physical education, art, computer and music.
